Shows that Will Blow Your Mind

There are so many shows in the world. Many are terrific; but some stand out in the mind more than others. It is difficult to be in the mix as a competitor, and for me personally, uniqueness and style that is anything other than "run of the mill" are the factors that I look for inspiration for. As a performer, here are some shows that have influenced my work and fueled my imagination.
Several of these shows are a little "older," but they certainly stand the test of time! You can usually find them online if you want to watch them--since you may not have been around when they were on (I've included links where possible).
Rudy Coby: Coolest Magician On Earth (https://vimeo.com/109546520)
Wow! That's a huge title to fill--and boy, does he fill it! Original illusions, characters, and HAIR! One of the most fun stage shows I've ever watched.
Laurie Anderson: Home of the Brave (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mua8Pr6uRso)
You have to get up pretty early to be more creative, and off-the-wall than this lady. I discovered her fun music while in college, then I saw this amazing movie--mind-changing for sure!
The Ringling Bro.s and Barnum and Bailey Circus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BMCdoQPPHA)
Something I and thousands of others grew up enjoying, this was truly "the Greatest Show."
I know, I know, clowns and controversial animal performances aside though, there was a magic in this circus that I will fondly remember forever. It was probably one of my saddest days when they announced that they were taking the tent down for good. I still love a good circus, but they are becoming more and more difficult to find. Cirque Italia Water Circus (https://cirqueitalia.com/) is a smaller, no-animals circus that is as close to a replacement and is a lot of fun. If they come to your town, do everything you can to get out to see them.
So what makes a show great? Like so many other things, uniqueness and originality first and foremost, then excitment, and bringing the fun times!
